I go dancing since I was 9 years old and I've been going to my classical dance lessons twice a week for 6 years so far.
I noticed that my teacher doesn't get enough credit for what she does while the modern dance teacher gets credit even for the smallest thing and this makes me angry. This year it got even worse. We (classical dancers of the 4th group) are just 7, but some of us are really insecure and they don't want to experience new things because they are afraid they won't succeed. We have just 2 hours per week and this year at the end of the school year we have to perform on pointe. HERE STARTS THE PROBLEM. I said, we're not good and we're insecure and we have only 15 minutes per week to go on pointe. It's not that difficult for me, but for some of us it is really impossible to to the easiest of the things. We should get more time to go on pointe to improve and dance better. When my teacher asked for 15 minutes more on friday to go on pointe the director said no. She told us "we'll find time on friday. We'll do less exercises and we'll go on pointe." WHILE... a classmate of my best friend goes to our dance school but she attends the modern dance course. When her teacher asked for A HALF AND HOUR more to improve, the director said yes. Do you think this is fair? I know that course and I can tell that it's much less difficult than our course and the girls don't have to learn to go on pointe, which is difficult and sometimes it hurts a lot. I know what they do. I know their ballets. I danced them. It's not difficult. They're just fast, but when you've learned what you have to do there's not difficulty. Do you get what I mean? If you don't get it, I'll explain. If they needed more time for their ballets, we would need even more, but we don't have more time, while they have. I don't know if it's clear, but I hope so. That teacher always gets what she wants because everyone thinks she's the most amazing teacher ever, while I saw her dance and probably I would be able to do much better. She's the art director, but she doesn't do anything more than the other teachers. SHE GETS TOO MUCH CREDIT FOR NOTHING. Am I right? This is far from fair. I think I'm done with this post, what do you think? When I'm down, I can't help but cry scarlet tears. Some people believe in God, I believe in Music. Some people pray, I turn up the radio. I never thought a girl could change my life this much, but you did and now I can't let you go. You'll always be the best part of me. I will miss you, T. ![]() |
