Art set (painting)

Okay, so my best friend wants to start to paint and I want to buy her a good art set to start with for christmas.
I was wondering where I could buy a good one, maybe from Wal-mart or Kmart if at all possible, and I would like names of the set too plz.

You may want to check out a store like Michaels. They have a few things online, but you're likely to find more in store.
There's a "Bob Ross Master Paint Set" that has 8 x 37ml tubes of oil colors.
There are also Watercolor art sets and an acrylic paint set.

I would check to see what kind of paints she uses and what kind of paintings she usually does (portraits, landscapes, fantasy, anime/manga).
You will get more bang for your buck if you buy paintbrushes, a palete and some canvas paper.

Look for "wholesale art supplies" or "art supplies stores" in your area.

At K-mart you will find "Reeves" watercolor and acrylic paint sets, but these are only 11.8 ml of paint. Which may not last very long, depending on how much painting she does. The oil color set has 22ml of paint in each tube. Both of these sell for $22.49. The difference apart from more paint is that the oil color set doesn't have any brushes, or pencils etc. It's best to buy brushes separately as they will be a better quality.

Your best bet would be a craft store, like Michaels or Hobby Lobby. It really depends on what kind of paint you want to get her, acrylic or oil paint, but the people who work in the painting departments of crafts stores can help you chose the best paint.
