Card making

I am planning on making a card for my boyfriend's 18th birthday and I need a little help. I have never made a card before.

He plays guitar and that is his main hobby in life. He also like metal music and manga.

I have been googling ideas and I have found a few I just don't know where to start. I don't want to spend loads on materials and tools.

But I would have to find a way to change it to an electric guitar like this.

I also need to find a way to show that it is an 18th card. I want it to say "Happy 18th Birthday Nick" on the front but there isn't much room on this card for extra writing.

Where they have made the pick I would stick on one of his that he has give me.

Another idea I have is to use this template

But have the background as a collage of his favourite album covers with that guitar on top.

Another idea is to use that guitar on top of an old cd which is stuck to the card.
Like this but with the electric guitar from above on it.

So any tips or ideas or development on my ideas would be great.

Why dont you somehow combine the electric guitar with the CD. That will look awesome.
