Moving to Australia - July 1st 2012, 05:16 PM

I thought about moving to Australia. But I have cats. How do people who have pets move to a different continent? Without giving up the pets.....

You could try looking into airlines and see if any are able to ship pets over there.

I have most definitely heard of people flying with dogs. Cats, I'm not sure. As long as they're okay being put in a cage for some number of hours, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.

I think it will depend on where you live. You might have to take two flights and stop in between them for a night with your cats so that they aren't on a plane for too long. This is because they'll need food and water and to be able to go to the bathroom.
But they do have planes that allow pets on them, so I'd check with your airline and see what they offer.

And here you are living, despite it all.
