I'm going to Orlando! - February 26th 2016, 11:28 PM

Hey guys,

I'm so excited, I've been going on and on about going to the states for years now, and in six months time it is finally happening! I have booked it and I honestly could not be happier! Does anyone live in Florida and have any ideas of places to visit apart from the obvious places like Disney or Universal Studios, I will be doing some of those things but I think the waterparks are going to be much more my thing or going to sea world that kind of thing. Any suggestions for adventurous, outgoing twenty somethings?

Thanks in advance!

I live in Florida but haven't been to Orlando recently. I hear that they are putting in a new roller coaster at seaworld - so that is always fun. There will be 3 roller coasters there then. They closed one of the main water parks- Wet N Wild- but they still have Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

If you are willing to leave Orlando for a bit - you could go to the East coast and surf- its an hour and a half or so from there. In Tampa there is another theme park called Busch Gardens- which has a lot more rides than Disney or Sea World.

Hey,

Thank you so much, I will definitely be going to Tampa as well, I really want to go Busch Gardens. Wet N Wild will be closed but I'm not too bothered about that.

Thank you again!

Re: I'm going to Orlando! - March 8th 2016, 07:01 PM

I lived in Orlando for 5 years for school. Winter Park is a nice area with a lot of shops and food places. There's also places like Wonder Works and plenty of dinner entertainment options such as Medieval Times or a Pirate Ship dinner show. Wet'N'Wild is in fact still open and will remain open until the end of 2016 [source]

If you plan on going to both SeaWorld AND Busch Gardens you can probably get a discount. They also have a water park next to Busch called Adventure Island. A little outside of Orlando there's also Lego Land. In one of the malls the Crayola Experience recently opened, but I haven't been there yet. There's the Brevard Zoo in Central Florida as well. If you plan on going east for the beach you could stop at Kennedy Space Center. SeaWorld and Busch Gardens both have new roller coasters set to open this summer, however it's very likely they may still be under construction when you come. Last year Busch Gardens put off opening Falcon's Fury for a couple months. If you stay at one of the three hotels in Universal your room key acts as a fastpass (which normally cost a hefty price) and you normally get early access to the park (before other guests). On certain nights Disney Resort guests also get extended hours for Disney parks.

If you want any specific tips on how to be prepared for the various parks and such as it gets closer feel free to PM me
