Hey everyone, I am planning on going to the UK and stay with one of my closest friends. I was just woundering what is all there, some advice on how to deal with the time zone changes, and just overall a bit about the place. I went to chapters and found almost nothing. So any information would be great! Next summer I will be 18 so I want to go to the UK because It looks beautiful, and tired of Canada xP
But ya, any information, I will be around leeds and manchester'ish. I would have to double check where abouts she lives exactly lol. Thanks! -Alice- |

Depends when your flights land. The best way to get over jetlag is to force yourself into a sleeping pattern. Like the best flights arrive in the evening so then you go to bed and get used to sleeping then quicker. If you get there early morning you'll want to sleep and it'll take longer to adjust.
Once you know where abouts you're staying we can give more info on what to do ... but I'm sure you'll love it here!! You can't move mountains by whispering at them. Take a look at my art here: http://attemptedart.tumblr.com/ |

Aweeesomme! Well at 18 you'll be legally able to drink here so make sure you enjoy the night life at Manchester, it's brilliant! Take your passport though because they don't accept foreign driving licences.

Religion is like a penis. It's fine to have one. It's fine to be proud of it. But please don't whip it out in public and start waving it around. And PLEASE don't try and shove it down my throat. |

My friend and I are stopping in the UK for atleast a few days while we're in Europe - ideally, I'd like to get a visa and work permit and see if I could get an internship or something in one of the bigger cities over the summer.
Oh, just a warning, the UK is EXPENSIVE - particularly London, things get cheaper the further North(so, it's good that you'll be in the Manchester area) you get - but they're still expensive. Food and drinks especially. Aer Lingus has some pretty cheap flights, it's an Irish airline, but it flies all over Europe and does trans-atlantic flights too. I also second the jet-lag advice. We're trying to book a flight that arrives in the morning so that we can sleep on the flight overnight, and then arrive awake and ready. LOTS of water will help, too - dehydration is a major issue with jetlag. skydiversinreverse ![]() |
