Lost Finale - May 24th 2010, 07:05 AM

This thread has been labeled as containing spoilers. The contents of this thread might therefore describe important elements of a storyline that could ruin it for you. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

SPOILER ALERT! Do not read on if you haven't see the finale yet! Some things may get revealed!

After over 100 episodes, earlier today, at 5am UK time, Lost came to an end.

6 seasons down the line, many flashbacks, forwards and sideways later the twists and turns finally ended, and the fate of the beloved Losties was shown. But what do you think of the events?

Many are disappointed with the finale, whereas others think it was the perfect way to end the show. Many questions still unanswered, and possibly just a bit of closure on the character front, all that is left for us fans to think is: 'What the heck?'

I truely believe that a lot of what went on throughout the entirity of the show was a bit unnessercary, given that it ended how it did. There are a lot of things that don't make any sense, and a lot that we'll never know. But it's not going to stop us fans speculating, discussing and debating for years to come.

So what are your views?

A bit disappointed with the ending really. They left alot unanswered. Alot of what happened in Lost was there as a "shock" factor and to get you interested, but the writers them didn't seem able to come up with suitable explanations for it so therefore dropped it. Mainly:

1) Aaron/Walt were supposedly special and important in the first few series, but were hardly mentioned in the later ones, and certainly not in connection with being important.

2) The time travelling? What was that all about, wasting a few episodes?

I dunno, I enjoyed Lost, but I started to watch it for the mystery. In the end though, it was basically a soap opera, that used the mysteries and island more as props and "shock" factors to kepp you watching than something that they were going to later on explain. I think this was emphasised with the alternated reality/purgatory thing...completely ignore the island and instead concentrate on the ultimate fate the characters

I fair enjoyed it. The Powers That Be always said that Lost is a character driven show, and it was that right til the end. I mean, we found out what Jack's tattoos meant but not why babies couldn't be born on the Island!

I stayed up for the finale at 5am and I'm glad I did. I spent the majority of it texting my friend who also stayed up with general comments of excitement. I believe I typed something close to "dpofhdofhfdhgf;dg;ods" when there was an advert break right after Jack and the Man in Black ran at each other on the cliffs.

I really don't mind that some things were left unanswered. Sure, I'd like to know, but there's always the worry that an answer would be less satisfying than not knowing. People didn't seem to like the Light at the Heart of the Island thing, so I can imagine other explanations not being welcomed either.
