The Hunger Games -

I can't even put into words how excited I am for this movie. The book was amazing and the trailer looks perfect too. Thoughts? "Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it." |

I have the hunger games trilogy and I have read it twice and I absolutely love it! I seen the trailer a few weeks ago in theaters when I was watching the breaking dawn movie and it looks really good too. I have noticed in the last few years they have been turning a lot of good book series into movies like harry potter, twilight, the golden compass few more I cant think of right now
and anyways they are all turning out pretty good especially harry potter I can't wait to watch the hunger games I also heard that they might come out with a movie for the mortal instruments?

I'm not sure how I feel about the movies. I'm pretty happy about the casting of Katniss, the rest I find a little lackluster, including Gale and Peeta (though my friend called me on this one, if they were too pretty I'd say it was unrealistic, and now I'm complaining about how plain the two are).
I have two problems with the trailer. The transformation sequence (dirty Katniss to pretty Katniss) is not as dramatic as I imagined. She's barely transformed at all. In the books she was supposed to be coated with makeup, her costume doesn't look a thing like the flame it was supposed to resemble, etc etc. Secondly, the trailer shows almost nothing of the meat of the movie, the actual Hunger Games. Presumably this was intentional, to keep the suspense up, but I simply find it frustrating. |

I'm really excited. I just hope that the rest of the movie turns out to be great.
It kills me when Hollywood ruins great movies! |

I guess, I'm the weird one that didn't expect everything so futuristic.
I expected them to have futuristic weapons and stuff, but the poorer people like katniss I expected them to have like older clothes. Like rags almost, and the town to be like povertyish village. Not futuristic. But I expected the Capital to be futuristic and have futuristic clothing and stuff. I'm just weird I guess. lol. |

I'm reading the second book and I can't wait for the film. But I just hope it doesn't ruin the book for me.
