Which Hand? - September 22nd 2010, 12:06 PM

for all you musically gifted folk out there

which hand do you play your instrument with? (assuming your instrument is more than your voice )

and also, are any of you ambidextrous (ya know, can you write and/or play with both hands)?

i can write and play with both hands, but i usually use my left more for strumming/plucking

just interested in finding about my fellow musicians on here

(suppose i should add: when i say play, i mean which hand produces the sound? the hand you strum/pluck/bow/slap/whatever with)

I use my right hand for bowing?

umm, lets see....
For guitar... I play a right handed guitar... But I can finger pick with my right hand...
And when I do solos or lap guitar I tend to use both my hands...
And for piano... I use both hands, cues its piano...

Violin - I use my left hand to hold it and my right hand to play.

Does Guitar Hero count?
I always use my left hand, or everything except bowling and basketball but for the other sports I kick with my left leg and all.

It's crazy because I'm right handed with every instrument but piano.
Maybe because the left hand parts are easier.

I happen to only be a singer.

But I hold my music mainly in my left hand, even though I'm right handed. That count pieguy?
