What songs do you listen to express your feelings or emotions? -
July 19th 2011, 05:01 PM
Since music is a universal language I've always found it can be a good way of expressing how we feel when we can't express ourselves through words.
Also there can be days where we've just had enough so it's the case of "Headphones in, music at full blast and block the rest of the world out" and I'll admit this is exactly what I'm going at this moment in time, so feel free to post the songs that you listen to when everything isn't going well or the songs that really make you feel better

I hate to sound emo, but if I've had a particularly bad or infuriating day, I listen to LOUD music. Today I listened to Trivium and the Dillinger Escape Plan on the way home. Just aural anger and ferocity.
When I'm more depressed than angry, I listen to Sigur Ros, Anathema, or Kid A by Radiohead. Happy moods usually result in guilty pleasures. The Vengaboys are fantastic for a good mood. |

If I'm feeling hurt or betrayed by a friend I listen to ska because it's got a kind of funny, "I don't need you in my life" upbeat feel to it. If I'm really upset I'll listen to music that stands out to me. Not necessarily having a sad vibe but something where the lyrics speak to me. They can be uplifting or match my exact feelings, it depends. (For example, "Marching On" by OneRepublic can bring me up when I'm said but sometimes "Fix You" by Coldplay is a better match.) If I'm angry I listen to anything loud but not screamo cause I can't stand it. A lot of times I find myself listening to the type of music (if I'm feeling anything but happy) that has a "I don't need you to succeed" "I'm better than this" feel to it... "You're Guts (I Hate 'Em)" by Reel Big Fish is a good one or "King of Anything" by Sara Bareilles.... haha yeah I guess I'm just that kind of person. xP

When I'm feeling low, usually I listen to Linkin Park/Papa Roach/Breaking Benjamin.
e.g One Step Closer/Last Resort/Evil Angel. Positive/motivational songs I listen to would be: I can be = Taio Cruz Iridecent = Linkin Park (don't hate me!!!) Strong Again = NDubz ![]() When your feet are made of stone And you're convinced that you're all alone Look at the stars, instead of the dark You'll find your heart shines like the sun |

When I was younger this would apply to me.
But honestly I just listen to music to get lost into the groove of it. For no reason but to get lost in the sound when it just fills me and sends me on a trip through the cosmos. ![]() Your waiting for the perfect moment. There is no perfect moment. You have to make it happen. - Matador |

When I'm depressed, listening to sad songs always cheers me up.
When I'm happy, I clearly listen to happy and upbeat songs. I have certain playlists on my phone for each mood that I have. Hahah. All of them contain Taylor Swift songs.
I might be crazy. But have I told you lately that I love you? You're the only reason that I'm not afraid to fly. <3 |
