NME list the top 150 songs of the last 15 years - October 12th 2011, 04:35 PM

http://www.nme.com/list/150-best-tra...248648/page/15

Do you agree? I'm particularly happy about the top 2, and there are some good tunes in that list. Some not so good ones as well, mind you...

Didn't go all the way through, but I liked a lot of their songs. Might as well have called it "Top 150 Mainstream Pop Songs of the last 15 Years" though for all the variety of genre present..

I think the list is abysmal, music taste aside.
Plus they had a song that was released 16 years ago ¬.¬

'And in the garden, lust began
The animal instinct, the wanton man
She fed him with a hunger, an appetite
And fillin' with emotion he took a bite'

Didn't really recognize any of the songs but Paper Planes, Empire State of Mind, Dog Days Are Over, Umbrella, Smile, Poker Face, F*ck You, and Since U Been Gone. I recognized 8 out of 150. Not a great list if I can't even place a grand majority of the songs even on my radar (not even if I like them or not, just that I've heard them).

I love 5, 6, 23, 32, 37, 44, 74, 99, 103 ( ), 139, 132, 144, and 149, and have heard and liked 13, 33, 63, and 135. The other songs I haven't heard or don't like, or are just too mainstream.

I'll keep you at your best

I've heard most of them, and don't agree with all of them. Kanye's Monster is around number 50 and it ought to be higher. But at the same time, why songs by Coldplay and the Killers are in there, I'll never know. I'm just glad Oasis didn't dominate it.

Excuse you, the Killers are amazing. I actually quite liked this list, though I was surprised to see Rebellion (Lies) by Arcade Fire in the top 15. But I think they did a great job of choosing the number one song

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

I hate how they're all pop. It's almost as if they don't believe metal is any good, idiots.

Simmer down there, Kerrang

Sorry Cheyenne. The Killers made half a good album with Hot Fuss and that's about it.

II liked the Killers, but I thought their song should have been put higher.
I'm glad they put arcade fire and other bands like that in there as well.
I'm quite pleased with the list.
