Enter Shikari - January 17th 2012, 11:38 AM

I bloody love Enter Shikari.

Socially relevant, musically current and innovative, intense in the live environment, the boys haven't let me down yet. Their new album is yet another development in their musical catalogue, and while it isn't as immediate as their previous albums, it's equally as rewarding if you stick with it and the songs really start to shine after a few listens.

Excitingly, it's also number 1 in the mid-week album charts. Pretty unbeliveable for such a heavy (at times) band, and it just goes to show people do still care about rock music, if only people made it this good more often.

Anyone picked up A Flash Flood of Colour yet?

YES, YES, YES, YES, YES.

ENTER SHIKARI

Everything about them and the new album is amazing. Lyrics are so relevant and important and eloquently put, the composition is perfect, there's a brilliant mix of electronic and hardcore, and best of all they put on the best live shows in the world; second to none.

I thought about you for the rest of the day.
Catching my head turning to find you again.
I hated myself for it.

I've only heard their song "Sorry You're Not A Winner" and I thought they were alright.

I've been meaning to listen to more of their music. Any specific songs I should check out? :]

If you can, listen to "A Flash Flood of Colour" (their new album) all the way through. Life-changing stuff.

If you can't:

Wow, I remember when they first started out, saw them in... gah 2004? Before they got huge. And I didn't have to pay to see them
Still going strong!

Way to neglect Take to The Skies! Anything Can Happen in the Next Half Hour is probably my favourite Shikari song! I remember the year that album came out, I got it the day it was released and it didn't leave my CD player all year. It was crazy good, still is. I've grown out of a lot of bands but Shikari are always enjoyable.

Oh I love the album, it's just that as a first listen I felt that that it's perhaps risky. it's much heavier than their other stuff and to many listeners that may put them off, even though they're newer stuff is not very similar.

I honestly don't see what all the hype is about to be honest bahaha
Some of my friends are just utterly in love with them and are like 'OHMAH GAWDDD AM SEEING ENTER SHIKARI' and then I'm just like '.... so?'
Guess I just don't like that kind of music :')
