What Are Your Favourite Musicals? - January 6th 2009, 01:21 PM

So the title says it all.

What are your favourite Musicals?
and
What are your least favourite Musicals?
Also what shows do you want to see?

My favourites so far are.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (x4 seeing it again in FEB)
Beauty and the Beast (x2 seeing it again in August)
Blood Brothers
Starlight Express
Chitty Chitty bang bang (x2)

My least favourites so far are
Cats
Doctor Dolittle
Chicago
High School Musical 2
High School Musical On Stage - worse than the films

I want to see
Billy Elliot
Mary Poppins
Lion King
Phantom of the Opera
Sound of Music
Avenue Q
Grease
Mamma Mia
Hairspray
Wicked
We Will Rock You
The Lord Of The Rings Musical

Starlight Express and Blood Brothers AGAIN

I wish I lived near the West End or Broadway.

I've seen Mamma Mia, which I thought was good. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat was also good. My school actually put this play on one year. I was in it but I don't remember what part I played.=P I really want to see Grease and Hairspray. I'm going to see We Will Rock You on Saturday. I heard it was really good so I'm excited. =)

I love it, I'm from Liverpool so it comes with the territory, it's the same with The Beatles
Also Blood Brothers was first preformed in my school 1981.

I think it's great because of how true to it is to how it was (still is slightly in parts)
Although sometimes when the actors have bad fake scouse accents I get annoyed and I goes though me like nails down a blackboard.

I love the character of Linda and Mrs Johnstone and how the actor progress from being 7 to adults.

Also I do understand how you can dislike it, it's not for everyones taste. I mean I really disliked Chicago.

I don't really have a least favorite.

There are so many that I still want to see.

Ah, I just <3 musicals!

What are your favourite Musicals?
Billy Elliot
Mary Poppins - both the film and the stage version
Wicked <3
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
Jesus Christ Superstar
Fame!
The King and I
Grease
Lion King
Sweeney Todd
Mamma Mia

What are your least favourite Musicals?
Cats. But then again, I don't like the animals, so there wasn't really much hope

What shows do you want to see?
Evita. But only because someone told me that I wouldn't like it, so it's kinda to prove them wrong!
Rent. Because of all the good stuff I've heard about it.
The Sound of Music. Because everyone seems fascinated at the fact that I haven't seen it!

Phantom of the Opera, hands down the best musical of all time, IMO.

Followed by: Grease, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.

Marcus Aurelius
