Frightening Songs? - May 28th 2009, 02:14 AM

Does anyone have suggestions for frightening songs? Not songs that just mention death or decapitation in their lyrics. I'm thinking more along the lines of eerie music, that can stand alone with out our words.

I have AFI's Kiss my eyes... but that's it.

myspace.com/lonesome_fish for poetry. I like feedback sometimes. And I like smiley faces .

Dir En Grey - Saku.

You will come to realize that what appears today to be a sacrafice will prove instead to be the greatest investment you ever made.

What about switchblade symphony? Also angelspit but they're a little more cyber punk, kidney thieves or static-X but they're a little heavier sound.

you could check out the band Goblin. They were (are?) an instrumental italian band that scored many italian horror films. If you want lyrics, I would suggest you look into the bands Bauhaus and Christian Death.

Check out some of Rob Zombie's stuff (i.e. Ballad of Resurrection)
Korn also has a few good ones (Make Me Bad)

Ad eternae by Distimia is a bit of an eerie CD

You can download it free (and legally!) from jamendo.com, just go search it there.

EDIT: Also In The House - In A Heartbeat by John Murphy. Especially if you've watched 28 Days/Weeks Later.

Uuggh, I don't know the name, but my friend had this song on her mp3 player. It was about a little girl who had hacked up her mother and was singing to her as she was dying. It had a really creepy tune to it too.

The Eternal (echoey, hopeless, and some sad piano parts)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPY5TxTdElM

Decades (depressed, slightly demented, hopeless, very eerie synthesizer part)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMAB3r6EjcM

personally, I think these songs are very tough on first listen...but then they click immensely.

There's a song by Sinai Beach, It's quite scary.
