Question Empowering Music - June 7th 2009, 02:01 AM

I'm looking for some new music, at this point I seem to be interested in empowering music. Music with kind of a "I'm going to get through this, I can do this" kind of feel. Perhaps a bit of a "fuck you" vibe, but nothing too pretentious. I'm open to all kinds of music so feel free to suggest any artists or certain songs [try to avoid duplicates please].

Suggestions?

On My Own by Reina. It has a dancey feel to it.

I Gotta Get Thru This by Daniel Bedingfield.

The Muse song I found boring tbh. Reina was pretty, but too slow for what I'm wanting, and Daniel Bedingfield had too much of a sad feel to it. Good suggestions, just not what I'm looking for

Superchick, they're a hit or miss. Try "Hero" and "Stand In The Rain."

The Simple Plan song is more along the lines of what I'm looking for but there's still something about it that doesn't give the.. "on top of the world" feeling.

The Natalia song is pretty, but too slow for what I'm looking for

I definitely do love Superchick. Most of their songs [that I have atleast] are a bit on the slower song, but thank you for reminding me of them. they got lost in my music collection
Not a huge fan of CCR, Janis Joplin or Stevie Nicks though, it's just not my style. Jimi Hendrix can be ok, but it reminds me of my dad too much.

So What? by P!nk
Can't say it's one of my favourite songs, but I guess it gives out the vibe you're looking for.

I'm not a huge fan of it either, but this is more along the lines of what I'm going for

Re: Empowering Music - June 13th 2009, 03:28 PM

I've got a really good one for you!

How about this: YouTube - Paramore - Hallelujah Vitamin String Quartet - [: I love this one. Makes me feel like I'm on top of the world, haha. You might not love it as much, but I figured I'd suggest it nonetheless.

I'll try to think of some others, too.
