Favourite Film Characters - August 12th 2009, 12:33 PM

Well we have a favourite literature character thread so I thought I'd make this one.

Alan Rickman as Snape
I think he was the perfect person to play Snape. I couldn't imagine anyone else doing a better job.

Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow
Jack was originally supposed to be played by Jim Carey but I'm glad that Johnny Depp did it instead. I think he did a way better job than Jim Carey would have done and he suited the part so well.

Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal
There's something about Hannibal that makes him a likeable character even though he goes around killing and eating people. Maybe it's because he's so well spoken. Anyway I'm going to watch the Hannibal prequel later so I'll see if the actor in that does a better job than Hopkins. I doubt it though.

What actors do you think portrayed their characters well on screen?

Heath Ledger as The Joker. That was fantastic and thrilling, scary. His presence on the screen just seemed to melt everything else away. He was amazing.

I love Audrey Hepburn as Holly Goilightly in Breakfast at Tiffanys. I just think that Audrey Hepburn has such a magical quality about her, she seems so delicate and so mystifying which matches her character. Holly Golightly seems so independent and looks after herself but yet is so vulnerable, and Audrey Hepburn just seems to make her come alive and not seem like a character in a film but an actual person.

I love Walt Kowalski in Gran Torino.

He plays the old army veteran part well in my opinion, and is great in portraying his character as the movie evolves. He goes from cold to warm when he interacts with his neighbours. I loves it.

I liked Abigail Benson in Little Miss Sunshine as Olive. She made the character really adorable.:]

And like Ayak said, Heath Ledger as The Joker. Really great preformance in the Batman movie.

Hugo Weaving as V from V for Vendetta. His v-infested monologue alone just screams astounding. He filled the character quite well.

You can lose yourself. Everything. All boundaries. All time.

And just when the sweet confusion is so intense you think you're gonna die... you kind of do.

Leaving you alone in your separate body, but the one you love is still there.

That's a miracle.

You can go to heaven and come back alive. You can go back anytime you want with the one you love.

Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal
Heath Ledger as the Joker (yes he gets praised so often but he deserves it)
and Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden
