The voice isn't all that easy to sing. With voices it's harder to hear the note you're singing because you sound different to yourself than you do to everyone else. I don't think any instrument is easier to learn than the other, they all require a skill but I suppose if you were very musically talented you'd probably think the triangle was easiest or a bass drum since a lot of the time you have to play the same beat over and over.

I think piano and guitar are certainly easy if not the easiest. They particularly good if you need an instrument to accompany singing

I'd say any tuned percussion that isn't piano, are very easy to learn, such as xylophone, marimba, timpani drums etc.
Guitar is easy if you make it easy, by picking only simple chord songs, but then again this can be said of most instruments. Wind, brass and strings are you hardest, with bassoon and french horn the hardest out of those types. Triangle, woodblock, chimes, gong, timpani, etc. You get the picture. Percussion players are all drooling knobs (totally, totally kidding!).

Life is but an idle dalliance of the cosmos, frail, and soon forgotten. They're all very easy to play, well except a few
, but they'll all also take years of practice to get remotely good at them... Kind of hard to compare too, because a grade 8 piano piece next too the gong is going to sound a lot better in general ... To me anyway...From personal experience though, easy to get anywhere with are the recorder and the didgeridoo, both of which I played when I was little but gave up lol... How can one love themselves, when they love absolutely nothing? Do something that is interesting. If it is not interesting, find out why it is not interesting. |

Percussion is pretty easy, so if this is for school, then go for that. Or start with the clarinet. My friends have said it's easy.
Other than that, any instrument you can hit (percussion) or blow through without any fingerings (penny whistle, harmonica) or has easy fingerings like the recorder are pretty easy. ![]() The great artists of our time are the ones who created something timeless. Yesss.
But if you have a bad sense of timing/rhythm then it might not go so well. The clarinet and keyboard are pretty simple to learn, although i`m sure there would be many instruments that you would consider to be easy once you started learning simple songs and practicing. Don't just exist...LIVE. |

I would say piano. And I would disagree with those who just say percussion because personally I can play piano and the oboe (I know...) but drums was something that I just could not do.

I personally found bassoon and french horn quite easy to learn honestly, I can play both very well, especially bassoon... the problem with French Horn is that you have to transpose depending on where you play, and that the pitches like to be hard to find for the Cs, and Fs lol. I personally found the Clarinet, Bassoon and Flute and trumpet to be the easiest to learn, Guitar is the hardest by far for me at least lol. "Others say there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Tin whistle is extremely easy to play, and you can't get an instrument much cheaper to be honest =p
And I wouldn't personally count vocals as an instrument, as in a song music and vocals are counted separately and music is made by instruments. But that's my opinion, don't know if they're technically classed as an instrument? Drums can be really difficult due to rhythm and whatnot. Vocals are also really hard. Guitar is easy to be mediocre at and hide in the background though.

Excluding percussion (because melodic and rythmic playing are completely different), I'd say the easiest instrument to play proper songs has to be the guitar. Learn a few chords and you're good to go.
Anyone who says voice is easy has not tried to fix a bad voice, it's torture! |

I've been playing guitar for a couple years now, and I can definitely say that it's not easy to learn. I still suck and can barely play a couple songs, and I know a few chords here and there. It's also about the strumming, and it's near impossible to stay on rhythm when you try singing and playing guitar at the same time. It takes a LOT of practice, but you can teach yourself how to play guitar. That's the only easy part about it.
The easiest instrument I've ever played was the recorder. I taught myself how to play the Titanic on the recorder in the 5th grade, so I'd imagine it can't be that hard to learn. |

Drums by far. Less things to remember and you can have fun with it. Come up with nice beats dont even have to be in timing will sound like a solo. Best are is YOU DONT HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY TO SOUND GOO

I'm surprised a lot of people have said drums. It does take a lot of rhythm and timing practise. Unless you play a straight simple rhythm for your entire life.
