The music video gave me the chills, but in a good way.
 Honestly I love the lyrics, I love the music.. the only thing I didn't like is when she hits those high notes in the chorus, it's a bit.. pitchy? Hrmm. But otherwise love it.

The lyrics are very her--straightforward and not so "deep." Simple words. I also don't like the high notes in the chorus, they aren't the most pleasant thing to listen to but it kinda grows on me. The fact that it's in the pov of Alice just makes me like it, regardless.

I have a funny story about this song actually.
Heard it on the radio one night, they never said who is was. I fell in love with it, but couldn't remember ANY of the lyrics. But i spent 2 days trying to find this song, finally heard it on the radio again and looked it up. I really love it, i agree it isn't her best. But i LOVE the lyrics. It really reminds me of myself. To be frank, the song, artist, and video all irritate me.
I've never liked Avril Lavigne, she seemed like another pop princess despite her whole rebel image. The song couldn't have been sung worse if she tried. It sounded as if she was trying to stretch her voice to much more than it ever could possibly be. The video was just her, in Alice's place. It felt like she was just stealing the role without even having to act. Stupid, stupid, stupid. But, that's just my opinion. "Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it." |
