Until the only thing they haven't done is literally show Jason beating a dead horse.

Until people stop paying to see it?

I work in a cinema, last night Friday 13th was completely sold out in one of our largest screens. That's nearly 350 people from a small area like this. Just imagine how many other people saw it elsewhere.

Obviously appeals to some!

Re: Friday the 13th. - February 14th 2009, 05:30 PM

The older, cheesier films such as Friday 13th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street are good in their own way. I mean, yes, there are about thirteen billion 'old' Nightmare on Elm Street films and you wonder when they're going to stop using the tired old formula, but they do have a certain charm in that they're 'older' classic, cliche horror films that everyone knows about and they're unintentionally / intentionally funny and cheesy and good for the odd laugh. In trying to remake these older horrors, I wonder if they're ruining what made these films watchable (if only once with friends on halloween) in the first place? I read some review of Jason X and it sounds hillarious, but people were moaning on about it being 'rediculous', but I think it's the rediculous, cheesy element that makes it fun. I don't watch many horror films and I don't like the super serious stuff, with no laughs, just scary japanese girls jumping out of microwaves or something (that is, admittedly, a film I WOULD watch). Still, they're going to keep on doing remakes. I just won't watch them. I wonder if in years and years time we'll get a 'remake of the american remake of The Ring', haha =P

Re: Friday the 13th. - February 15th 2009, 11:08 PM

I saw it on the day, and actually liked it, even being a newcomer to the series. I had a friend who explained the story behind it, but it was a very good movie. A lot of good jumps which got the audience screaming, and a good amount of well used humour was put in. The plot was kind of shallow but it was good for a movie of its kind (mindless violence I call it ).
So overall a great film.

I haven't watched all of them, just Freddie vs. Jason but that wasn't all that great. I just want to see what that's like but no one will come with me lol

I love the old films. I saw Friday the 13th last night.. And walked out probably not even in the middle of the movie. Really horrible movie.. And I believe the only other movie I've walked out on deliberately was Nick and Norah's Playlist whatever.

i consider myself a horror film afficionado, and i don't think there is any possible way that this can be any worse than the original. The original friday the 13th was basically a vehicle for nudity and violence (so your basic slasher movie).....exactly the same as this one. will see it. will enjoy it.
