Pretty Little Liars (Book series AND tv show) - September 1st 2011, 04:34 AM

I'm putting this in here because it fits under both literature and tv. I am in desperate need of someone to talk to about the show vs the books! I'm so confused and frustrated and everyone I know only watches the show. And of course, I don't want to ruin it for them. So has anyone read the books (at least up to book 8 - Wanted)? The summer finale is driving me crazy after reading the books!

"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.'
I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish.
'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.'
'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said.
'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'"

I am so confused on what the TV series is doing. They're not really following the books. Once in a while they do, but not really.

I just hope they clear things up rather than leave us hanging like in the show "LOST". Haha

I read an interview a while ago that said they were changing who A is in the TV show so that it would be interesting even for those who have read the books. I always get a bit skeptical when shows deviate from their source material...

I don't want to give anything away if you haven't read the books so POSSIBLE SPOILER

Okay. Now. In the books though there was more than one A. And they could change one of them but I don't know about after that. They better have the same ending!

So I only watch the show and can't contribute to the books vs show thing.
But I will say, I think the show is pretty awful. Like acting wise etc. And the random inferring but not saying anything is dragging on a little ... Nonetheless I am SO addicted. Just wanna know who freaking did it already!

I really hate that they're dragging things out in the show by adding story lines that weren't in the books and seem to have no relevance. I do really like that they added Caleb though, him and Hanna are so awesome! I really wonder if they're going to incorporate Kate like they did in the books...

And I really wish they'd address Hanna's eating disorder more, like in the book because it was such a huge part of the story.
