Your Gaming Setup(s) - May 19th 2013, 12:47 AM

What platforms, computers, etc. do you all play on?

I was a nintendo fanboy as a child, have the N64, Gamecube, and Wii. Always wanted a PS3 or Xbox 360, but never could justify the purchase. Usually I play Super Smash Bros with friends on a massive rear-projection TV with horrible resolution, lol. Pixels the size of honey bees.

My computer is a Lenovo T530 laptop running Windows 7. I'm really happy with it, for a business laptop on a budget. It's running 8GB Ram, Core i5, 1GB NVidia NVS graphics, 1600x900 screen. Plays SC2 and Battlefield BC2 pretty darn well.

I have the PS Vita, I rarely play a game on it, but if I do, I play MGS on it. My laptop (4GB Ram, Core i3, Intel HD Graphics) can handle GTA San Andreas and surprisingly enough Blacklight Retribution.

My lead console is the PS3 though, GTA 4 and WWE'13 are for now my lead games (I have many more games, but I don't play them), I'm borrowing Far Cry 3 from my nephew in the near future though.

Re: Your Gaming Setup(s) - May 19th 2013, 09:12 AM

I've juggled PC and Console gaming for years. Honestly console gaming just isn't appealing to me anymore though. If I have to sit in a car or be mobile for long periods I can just play a gameboy app on my Android and my xbox360 is just too expensive with the yearly subscription and all the games I would cycle through. So at this point I'm basically just PC gaming.

Here's my rig

I'm currently restricted to Xbox 360 250GB. My current PC can hardly even run Football Manager. The specs are humiliating. I will be getting a new PC soon enough though, I don't know what kind yet.

I mostly play on the PS3. Occasionally the XBOX 360, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, PSP. Sorry, I'm a nerd.

For me, I mostly have access to my computer and the games on my computer( which is very limited by the way), but I also have access to my Wii, but since I just came back home from college a few days ago, I still have to unpack the boxes in which the games and the Wii are in.

Hmh...
Currently, im on a five year old laptop who has single core processor, 64MB graphics card, amd 2 gigs of RAM.
But im getting a new rig tho
Intel i5 3570K
Sapphire 7950 Speed boost 3GB
8GB Corsair 1866Mhz RAM
128GB Samsung SSD
1TB barracuda HDD
Coolermaster storm scout 2 or something better
550W coolermaster power
Water cooling for the processor
Amd for the motherboard, something good with a very good power, and a great UEFI for overclocking.

Thats if i choose the PC version, the desktop version...
If i choose a laptop, ill take a) Lenovo Y500, or b) Asus ROG G75VX
Im pretty sure if i choose a laptop ill take G75VX... Few inches more, better keyboard, slighlty worser graphics... More or less, theyre both on the same lvl... But, they will all run crysis 3 on maximum without a problem with at least 40fps... So - i shall be gaming this summer!

Do those "hard drive accelerators" actually do anything? They're so tiny (in terms of capacity, lol)
