Facebook Privacy - August 24th 2013, 07:25 PM

So I noticed recently that when you're on someone's profile & you go to the search bar where it says their name, it'll give the options of "photos of...", "photos by...", "photos ... likes", etc. I'm always updating my privacy settings because I've had problems with stalkers in the past & these DON'T have privacy settings. At least I can't find ANY. Like it won't show "photos by..." because of my settings. But the "photos of..." shows pictures I'm tagged in since some of my friends have public settings. I don't know how else to get around this than by messaging every friend who does that & say "change your settings or remove the picture".

Does anyone have any better solutions to this? Facebook is really starting to piss me off. I was about to deactivate my facebook when I realized these options. Only reason I haven't is because that's how I keep in touch with a lot of out of town friends & family.

I had a look on Facebook and I couldn't find any option. The only option I have on mine is to set it so that no one can view any pictures of me from my own profile but it doesn't stop people seeing pictures of me from theirs. I don't know if it'd be of any help but you could untag yourself from the pictures people have of you, that way to any passers by they won't quite know who you are. Otherwise I think the only other option would be to ask each person who has a picture of you, to remove it. :/

Yes, untagging yourself or asking them to remove you from the pictures is the only way you can resolve this issue unfortunately.

You could try checking the photos menu..like try going to your albums and edit the privacy settings on them on who could view it vs. who can't. Facebook is trying to like give a detailed search option, which is the reason why it's doing that. It's best to edit the privacy settings on the photos.

I checked photos I was tagged in to see if you could change the settings for the photos and it doesn't look like that is possible so I would say that you're only option is to untag yourself or ask your friend to change their settings/delete the photo.

I don't have a facebook, but I agree with what the above posters are saying. Simply untagging yourself or ask your friend to remove you from the photo or to simply delete the photo you are tagged to.
