Firefox issues? - April 27th 2009, 03:42 AM

Every few hours, firefox will stop working and shut down and I'll get an error message saying that it had to unexpectedly quit and to restart it. So, I restart it and then in an hour or two, the same thing happens again. It's so annoying--any idea what's going on/what I can do to fix it?

Have you downloaded the most recent version?

Though, I have downloaded the newest one and that still happens to me. Hope someone can help Jen!

What's the error message that comes up?

Try uninstalling it (make sure to back up your bookmarks!) and then reinstalling it.

The three main things that would cause this are:
Out of date version of the software.
Out of date or problematic addons/themes.

So, try updating firefox. Then check over your extensions, update or trying different combinations of addons to find the problem area. Disable your theme. Run a virus check. Or reinstall firefox.

Uninstall/reinstall will fix most problems. MOST. Usually any other problem is related to operating system. Vista?

I doubt Vista itself could do this, hell, I'm using Vista without problems, though admittedly, I seem to be the only one.

As others have said, just make sure your add-ons are up to date.

Go to tools>add-ons and update them from there.
