I don't know if it's illegal to access, but it probably is illegal to buy or watch things from there. Either way, I wouldn't recommend going there.

It's not illegal to go there, just not the safest thing to do. Highly suggesting not using Windows, or you'll bring some nasty souvenirs.

Accessing the Deep Web isn't illegal.
It's very dangerous though.
The deep web is home to everything on the internet, including sex trafficking, drugs, hitmen, you name it.
It's also home to people who enjoy Doxxing users who aren't properly protected and prepared. Doxxing is basically where someone gets all of your information, and I mean all of it, and puts it for the public to see. Phone number, credit cards, everything.

Unless you are 1000% sure that you know what you're doing, I'd avoid entering the Deep web.

On top of that, you already need a special browser type to access it anyways.

It depends how you use it I wouldn't recommend doing this as your likely to pick up a viruses and see not very nice content. If you go there then I wouldn't suggest you download anything as a lot of it will be viruses/illegal stuff. I suggest you stay away from it.

Hey,

I definitely would not suggest looking into the deep web, the content on there would be unpleasant not to mention some of the consequences that there could be for delving into it. I would advise against it, it's definitely not a good idea.

Best of luck,
Paige

I wouldn't recommend it, there's all sorts of people on there, scammers, hackers, illegal organizations, etc.
But if you really do decide to use it anyway, i'd recommend you install some antivirus software, make sure not to put any sensitive personal information and don't download unknown things from there.
The deep web is probably a whole new experience for you and it's natural that you'd be curious about it, I've never been on there myself but if you use it make sure to keep yourself safe.

I'd be very careful venturing onto the dark web. For starters, you will need a specialized browser to access it, as it can't be reached via regular online platforms such as Firefox and Chrome. They block those sites for a good reason, too. There's so much questionable material on that part of the web. Illegal software, viruses, phishers, hackers, illegal organizations, criminals (probably including ISIS and other terrorist groups) and gangs, drugs, and certain types of porn exist on the dark web. You could get into serious trouble going there and getting on those type of websites.

Also, dark web = deep web. They're both the same thing.

Re: Going to deep in the web - May 17th 2016, 11:42 PM

in addition to all the warnings people have given you, i just want to say that i was once hella curious about the deep web as well.

a good cure to this interest that i'd suggest is instead watching youtubers explore the deep web. they know exactly what they're doing and you'll still get to see some pretty creepy, sometimes so weird it's cool, stuff. (of course, they need to censor all nudity and gore, but that's probably a better thing.) and even if you still want to go on it, they give you tips as they're going on it too, so at least you'll have more information on what NOT to do.

honestly, with all the risks, i don't really think it's worth it. people have sent me videos from the deep web in the past and i don't really know why anyone would want access to child porn and ISIS beheading video montages.
if you're curious, at least watch someone else do it SEVERAL times first, and be super careful.

It's not illegal. But I don't recommend it unless you know what you're doing. I don't generally recommend it at all.

Get... proper firewall protection, VPN, encryption, etc.

The whole lot. There are free VPN services. I use a paid one to have better speeds (free ones are very slow).

The deep web is quite a minefield. Quite full of illegal things, yes. But it itself, is not actually illegal.

If you're really determined to go there, watch some videos about it on youtube first, and be sure you know a few things about internet security.

I've only been once. Found it quite boring actually. Most pages don't work.

.

"I don't care about politics"
Then politics doesn't care about you either. Truth. You've got to make your voice heard, if you want to be listened to. But that's too logical for some people, so let me go a step further. Not making your voice heard, leaves other people free to hijack it by speaking on your behalf, even if they don't actually give a shit about you. That's politics. So, make your voice heard. That's not a quote from anywhere. That's just me.

I actually came across a list that was like "The Top 10 Dark Web sites to visit" but all came with an Onion link. I'm like "mmm, no." even though I installed the Tor browser the same day. I'd rather stay on the good side of the law.
