Paypal - June 27th 2009, 08:17 PM

I really don't know how to works, I use my parents account to buy things and I think they have it linked up to a bank card or something. If I was to buy something and there wasn't enough money in there, would it tell me or just buy it and my parents have to pay back or something?

Just want to make sure before I do it. I'd ask my parents but they aren't around at the moment so I thought I'd ask on here.

I usually use my credit card in paypal, because I don't want to risk the change of there not been enough money in my debit card and the bank charging me like 2x more than the bill...
If you don't want to worry about that just make sure there is enough money because paypal only charges and then you get the other bill from your bank.

Ah, that doesn't sound good. I think I'll just wait and ask them about it before I buy it and get them charged extra if there isn't enough. Thanks :] x

I use Paypal all of the time, actually. Because I don't have a credit card, I hooked it up to my bank account. It hasn't charged me extra for anything at all.

Basically, on your paypal account, you can hook it up to various sources of money. That means when you buy something over paypal, it automatically and internally (hence not giving your details to the merchant) takes the funds from the source you allocated and you can even set a secondary source just in case there isn't enough funds in the first one.
It all depends on what your parents have set it as really.
