What's your iTunes like? - July 23rd 2009, 08:59 PM

How organised are you with you iTunes? (If you use iTunes, that is ) Do you have every album name, song name, track number, album art in the right place? Or do you not bother about it that much?

Just curious

Yes, I do. My iTunes is very organised - I use my iPod everyday so I like it to be well organised and easier to use.

I don't have iTunes but knowing me I'd probably have it be pretty organized. If I have a bunch of random artists under "Various" it would probably drive me nuts so I'd rename everything so the tracks were at least under the right artist. Albums never mattered much to me.

Re: What's your iTunes like? - July 23rd 2009, 09:09 PM

All my songs have artists, song title, album title, album art. Also a lot of them sort the track number out themselves but if not then I have to fix it. I have no Unknown Artists or Unknown Albums.

If I don't have the full album I put (incomplete) next to the album title. If it is a single I put Single in the album title. If it isn't an official track with an album cover I will get a picture of the band or something as the album cover.

Having album art makes it easier to choose songs when using the cover flow.

Seriously organized. I'm a little obsessed about it being organized. I can't stand when it's all messy.

I hate when it's all messy.
I'd love to have album art for all my songs but I only have 4gbs so I can't fit it!! But I definitely have all the track names and the artist's names. The albums are a bit dodgy but I don't mind about them too much. I was looking at my friend's iPod a while ago and she had all these songs called 'Track 1' and 'Track 7'......it drove me crazy!!!! Couldn't find ANYTHING.

Mine is definately organised. I've tried to get most of the Album Artwork, and all of my songs have the song title and artist.
I like to be able to find my music easily!
And I also have playlists for different moods, just so I dont have to go searching

It's organized enough for me. I have all the song names, but not all the album names even though I like to have the album art work but it gives me something to do when I'm bored.

I'm totally OCD about my iTunes...
almost 12,000 songs with artist/album etc. Also I get annoyed if every word in the song title doesn't start with a capital... now that winds me up something awful.
about 10,000 of the songs have album artwork, just a few more to catch up on

I never know how to get album art! But they're not all that organised, whenever I want a song or an artist, I just search it.

I tend to do it as it comes, if its from CD it has no artwork, but if its unknown i normally name it. I do use playlists and the like

Most of mine is pretty organised but I don't actually know how to rename things on itunes. I don't generally use it that often except sometimes when windows media player is being laggy.

Just find the album cover on google, save it, and then drag and drop it into itunes. I spent a whole day doing this

I'm totally OCD about it.
Song title has to be perfect as well as artist.
It usually recognizes the album name.
I sort it by artist and have over 14,000 songs,

All I really care about is having the correct artist and song title. That way I can find the music fairly quickly on my Ipod.

As long as the title and artist + album are right, I don't really care. It bugs me a little when I don't have the album artwork, but I'm to lazy to go through like the 200 songs without album artwork and get it just to have a picture under the song name

Mine's pretty organized but then again itunes organizes it for you so I don't really put much effort into it. Though it is annoying when album artwork won't work for some reason :/

I have to make sure everything has an album or an artist. If not, they go under "other" or "unknown."

I get very annoyed when on my iPod it puts two folders for the same artist just because of a capital letter missing - e.g. Michael Jackson and Michael jackon

and also apparantly D12 and D12 are different .... GRR! That will never do! I MUST be organised!

It'd just be easier to click "get album artwork" on the Advanced tab on iTunes I like how no one knows about this. I found out about this before I learned about the drag-and-drop method...

But my iTunes is REALLY organized. I get pissed off when an album artwork isn't on iTunes. And I have to find it, but I do it, because it looks really bad.

mines fairly organised. i go through stages of organising everything and making sure that all songs have a name and correct artist etc.
i dont bother with the album name usually. i normally search through the artist name or go on shuffle mode.
would prefer it if it was all propperly organised, but i cant be botheres tbh, will have to do it tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after.......hahaha will get it done this summer, scouts honour lol

That only works if you have an itunes account and are connected to the internet so it doesn't work for everyone. Also some album artwork isn't on itunes so you have to drag and drop from google.

Most album artwork is. And I didn't know about the iTunes account thing, but why would you have iTunes if you didn't have an account?

Correct Artist, Song Title and Album (In Order) for everything, but with Genre and Album Art I avoid. With 49.80GB of music, doing that all would take ages

Well, I don't use iTunes, but i keep my music collection very well organized. Everything is tagged properly and I try to keep everything with album art aswell. I couldn't stand to use my MP3 player with all 1200 songs if everything wasn't well tagged, never find anything

My iTunes is organized enough for me. I'd say the majority of my songs on iTunes have the correct artist and song title.
