Question Dropped Cell In The Toilet... - July 29th 2009, 08:53 PM

Yeah. It was in my back pocket. Anyways, It turned back on and everything seems to be working.

Just a few minutes ago, I turned It on, and It said the battery is overheating or something? It's in front of a huge fan right now.

Help?

i've had a couple of friends do that this summer.

the phone companies told them to find another phone to use for 1-2 weeks and to take it apart and just set it on a table and allow it to completly dry out for like the first week...and then it should be fine to use.

stick your phone in a big bowl of rice.
it sounds crazy.
but it gets all the water out of the phone and it will work again.
just get plain uncooked rice, and stick your phone in it for a couple hours.
it works! (:
my sister has dropped her phone in the toilet MANY times.
hah.
that's the cure.

Wow, I might just try the rice thing. I have a bag of rice, too.

Yeah, I've heard of the rice thing too. Take your battery out of the phone. Most phones now have a place where if the phone gets wet enought theres a dot that will turn red. The dot isn't on the battery itself but the place where it sits.

I'm not sure if its only with phones that are verizon or not, but thats what happens to my phone. =]

Re: Dropped Cell In The Toilet... - July 30th 2009, 03:40 PM

I watched a thingy... And this bloke loaded his pockets with gadgets and jumped into a swimming pool, 30 second in, he got out, took out the batteries and left them for 2 weeks on a sunny windowsill... He came back to them and a lot of the gadgets worked, including the mobile phones... Apparently the trick is, is to make sure theyre completely dried out and to eave them off until then (:

Uncooked rice thing works for my friends all the time. Stick the phone and battery in separately. Should be good as new in no time!
