Angry MSN Messenger. - March 14th 2010, 10:15 AM

For some reason, it refuses to sign me in. When I try to sign in, it already has my email address in the field, and I type in my password, it pretends to sign me in then just reverts back to the sign in page. I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling, rebooting my computer, and repairing the program--in addition to a host of methods involving the registry. NOTHING'S WORKED! It just keeps doing the same thing. How do I fix this so I can sign in again?

Oh, and another note: this version of MSN is the newest one.

Could you try to download an older version? www.oldversion.com has lots of them on there. The newer msn's do seem to break and go funny more easily which is why I just ignore them when they tell me to update.
Or if it still doesn't work maybe think about getting Yahoo messenger since you can add msn email's to that and I've never once had a problem with Yahoo.

^@ Cara

I used to try and stop updating but it made me to do it eventually ;(

Anyhow, I had this problem myself and eventually came to the conclusion that my account had been compromised.. does it still let you in when you try using web messenger etc? If not, I'd suggest making a new email account.

Also, just search something along the lines of "MSN won't let me sign in" on google, as you usually get relvant and helpful results.

Have you got Messenger Plus?
http://www.msgplus.net/
Aside from hopefully fixing your problem, it has loads of extra features.
And I agree with searching up on it, if you haven't done so already.

Also, this might seem a bit of an inane thing to say, but have you tired trying again a few hours later? That sometimes fixes MSN's rebelliousness for me, due to it being caused by a bottleneck somewhere down the line or something like that.
