Phone problems. Typical Nokia. - July 26th 2011, 06:36 PM

So I'm wondering if anyone's able to help me out here.

I have a Nokia 6303 (I think!) It looks like this:

It's been a bit dodgy for a while now, everytime I try to delete messages it'd freeze up and the only way to fix it was to take out the battery, replace it, turn the phone on and it would stay frozen for about half an hour before I could do anything with it.
Last night, my girlfriend was texting me but I wasn't getting any of her messages. I tried deleting some old messages and it froze up. Then, no matter how long I left it, when it was turned back on it kept saying "Message storage not ready" or something similar. So I reset it completely, gave it time to turn on, put all my contacts back in and it still wouldn't let me into my messages. So I reset the factory settings and now... Well now half of the buttons don't work. The select and exit button don't work and the arrow buttons are a bit exclusive with when they work.
So I literally can't do anything other than dial with the phone, which is pointless since I have no calling credit on it.
I'm using my brother's phone just now and I can't get used to it. Does anyone know what might be wrong with my phone and how I can fix it? I miss my phone.

Is it still under warranty? If it's still under warranty, you can call Nokia and ask for a replacement.

Here is Nokia Care's UK phone number: [Link]
If you aren't living in the UK, then go to this page. Look for the Call or Email Nokia Care box, then in the drop-down menu, choose the country where you're living in.

------------------------------

Tip #1: If you don't know whether your phone is still under warranty, you can go here and check. (Note: That's a UK site; I'm assuming that you're living in the UK based on your profile info.)

Tip #2: When calling a company and dealing with their warranty, you do not need to be 100% honest. Feel free to leave out "unnecessary" info.

For example:
What really happened: You pissed off your little sister and in her rage, she threw the phone into your face. Your phone no longer works.

What you tell the Nokia representative: Your phone somehow suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason.

You're amazing, I love you!

My phone is still under warranty (must be a long one since I got it Christmas 09) so I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see if they'll fix/replace my phone for me.
Thank you so much, I would never have been able to do that myself!
