So early entry opened today and is running until the 6th.

I've registered, my username is purplefirebolt147. You have to choose a username from a list you are given but I like mine

I am just waiting for my email to get my confirmation link, apparently I may have to wait a few weeks for it though.

How will it work?
Each day for seven days, from 31 July to 6 August, we will be placing a clue on the Pottermore homepage to help you find The Magical Quill. There will be a new clue every day, and each clue will relate to a different book in the Harry Potter series. On Day 1 the clue will relate to HARRY POTTER and the Philosopher’s Stone, on Day 2 the clue will relate to HARRY POTTER and the Chamber of Secrets, and so forth. The clues will also vary in difficulty. On Days 1-3 the clues will be harder, and on Days 4-7 the clues will be easier.

To find The Magical Quill, you need to solve the clue and add the answer to the end of the web address http://quill.pottermore.com This will lead you to a website where The Magical Quill will be located while early access places are available.

Example:

Clue: How many books are there in the Harry Potter series? Multiply this number by 10.

Answer: 70

Next, add this number to the end of the website address. In this case it would be http://quill.pottermore.com/70

Then hit ‘Return’ to go to the website where The Magical Quill is located.

Did anyone else register? It has just closed for today so check back tomorrow for another clue and then you can try to register.

Got my account activation email and now we have to wait and see if I get a Welcome email because out of everyone who registers they will pick 1 million people to get early entry.

Cara, everyone I know who has tried to get in from the UK has so far. So it is worth giving it a go. I was going to wait until October because I thought it would be hard to get in but it isn't that bad and I was surprised when I got in so easily.

Day 1 the clue went up at 9am and then Day 2 went up at 10am so I think today's will be up at 11am (UK times). So far each day's clue has been up for an hour. Each day's clue relates to a book so today we are up to PoA.
If it carrys on like this then people in different time zones will get a chance.

The username this is a bit annoying but it is for child safety and I actually like mine now and some are really nice.

People on tumblr have spare accounts which they are giving away to people who can't get them so that it worth a look.

So if the pattern continues...
Day 4 will be up at 12pm
Day 5 will be up at 1pm
Day 6 will be up at 2pm
Day 7 will be up at 3pm

Issue with Day 4 of The Magical Quill challenge
We have had a few difficulties with today’s Magical Quill challenge.

They said clue's 4 - 7 will be easier but I didn't think it would be that easy...

I suppose they have to make them a bit easy due to children obviously wanting to get in.

I'm surprised at how easy it was to actually get in, I thought it'd be a lot harder than that. Not just the clue but the whole process of it.

I didn't like any of the username choices I got offered though

Yeah they made 4 - 7 later in the day for other time zones and made it easier for children since they want it to be fair.

I did think it would be harder, when I heard 1 million people would be selected it sound like such a small number since so many people wanted to go in but I managed to get in on the first day which surprised me. The length of time the registration is open for is shortening though so I think that is another reason the clues are easier.

According to Pottermore Insider:

Clue 6 will be released on Friday between 1:30 PM and 4 PM BST (8:30 AM and 11AM EST)

Clue 7 will be released on Saturday between 12:30 AM and 3:00 AM BST

In other words Clue 6 will be released on Friday 3:30am-8am Pacific time (6:30am-11am eastern time)

and Clue 7 will be released on FRIDAY 4:30 pm - 7:00 Pm pacific time (7:30 pm-10:00 pm eastern time)

I got in by chance. I was expecting Clue 5 to go up between 7-10am est, but I accidentally clicked it in my favorites bar around 1pm est, and surprisingly it just went up. Lol
