Question e-reader - August 8th 2011, 07:05 PM

i hope this topic fit's here.

I really want to get an e-reader but i can't seem to figure out whether the kindle, nook, or other brands is best. I was wondering if any of you had any insight on this?

They all do about the same thing - the only difference happens to be the brand.

If you go with one that is cheaper, I don't think it will matter. I do know Kindle is the best selling currently, but I think that's because it was advertised more than most others.

that's just another reason I love you...

I actually just got an Ereader as an early birthday present I have a Kobo and it works great for me (I love it!). I do know that I can buy the ebooks from different places, but with a Kindle you can only buy from Amazon, and the other ereaders can't use ebooks from amazon, and with the Kindle you can't download them from the library (As of right now anyway, at least that's what I read on the library website...It might be different for you) I hope I helped! ^_^

I have a kindle and really like it.

I do like the look of the Nook but it is unavailable in the UK.

I can buy ebooks from anywhere online and put them on my kindle. The only difference is you have to use the cable to transfer them from pc to kindle. If you buy the from Amazon they are transferred through wireless.

Cheaper does not mean crap in this case.

I have the Iriver Story. It displays books, allows you to shop for E-books on WHSmith , displays manga/graphic novels, has a callender, a diary thing, a memo writer, music player and a bookmarking feature. You can buy it in touchscreen or with a QWERTY keyboard It come with a real leather pouch and in my opinion IS AWESOMENESS! It has a REALLY long battery life and a picure viewer (though is B/W)

It's really great , the touchscreen one is called the Cover Story. And there is a new HD model out, but I need to talk to dad first, he helps me with tech stuff :P
