Installing the sims2 nightlife - October 3rd 2011, 12:09 PM

I have the sims 2 already installed on my laptop, I want to install the sims2 nightlife onto my laptop, in the instruction manual it says this ' we strongly recommend that you back up your saved games file before installing sims 2 nightlife' and then it says this 'when unistalling your most recent expansion pack and want to play a previous sims2 product the uninstaller deletes all saved games as they are unreadable, including the sims2 base game, backing up these games allows you to restore these files if you uninstall the expansion pack'

so when I put the sims2 nightlife into my laptop this message comes up :

' The sims 2 nightlife will be in a different format to the other saved games, would you like to back up your files or continue installtion, press ok to continue or cancel to back up files'

The problem I have is this : I cannot seem to find my saved games anywhere on my laptop when I uninstall things I usually just click uninstall and uninstall them. Is it important to back them up or does it not matter as when I uninstall something it is because I am bored of it and do not wish to play it anymore. I'm currently going through a 'the sims' phase, when I'm finished with this phase I will uninstall everything to do with the sims 2. So I guess my question is, is it really important that I back up these files or does it not matter so much as I can just re install the orginal sims 2 if I want to. And if I do need to back up these files how do I find them, As I cannot find the saved games anywhere on my laptop? And how do I back them up. ?

If you don't care if your saved families and towns get deleted, then don't back them up. But if you think you'll want to play them later, then don't. If you just leave the games on there and don't uninstall them then you don't need to back them up either.

Yes. It's perfectly safe. However, if you've already been playing it without the expansion and your laptop isn't that good there is a small chance the game could get corrupted while you install the expansion. If you don't care about your families you have right now, then backing up is completely unnecessary.

"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.'
I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish.
'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.'
'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said.
'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'"
