I bought a laptop today!!

Earlier today i bought a refurbished macbook air!!Im so excited. I bought it for $699. Im gonna get it sometime next week. Does anyone else have a macbook air? Is it a good computer?

I am glad that you like it. I'm not really an apple fan, but their computers are good.

My sister had a macbook air for about a month or so. It seems to withstand whatever mistreatment you throw at it.

She didn't have a case for it. Our house has a twelve step porch. While she was walking up the porch the laptop fell on the gravel. It was unharmed. The screen was not cracked except for the cover was a little chipped.

One day while my sister was using it, our cat tipped over a glass of soda and we thought for sure the laptop was done for. We would have to pay to ship it into apple. But to our surprise, nothing happened.

So it seems to be shatterproof.

Wow, thats one tough computer. :P I've never had a computer that tough. All the ones i've had break easily.

I'm not a big fan of Apple either, but they're computers can be pretty good. Congrats by the way

I have a regular macbook, but before I ordered it, I upped the ram and made the hardrive bigger and I love it.

I've had a MacBook Pro for about 3 years now. Hasn't failed me at all.

I'd suggest getting some form of case-either a sleeve or an actual case. I'm the type to be pretty careful about computers. I've had a Speck case for most of the time that I've had my laptop.

Otherwise, enjoy! The trackpad gestures are amazing.

Congrats, and welcome to the Cult Called Apple. I'm in a totally Apple house. From iTouch's to iMacs. You are going to love your Macbook Air. My cousin is in college and has one. He loves it. My family switched to Mac about 5 years ago because we just hated the way PC's would stop working, get viruses, not take new features and all that stuff. The main thing I notice is that all of my Apple stuff works....all the time.

I have an iMac and I love it It depends what you want out of a computer. Mac OS X is better than Windows in some ways and Windows is better than Mac OS X in other ways. For me Mac OS X does what I want perfectly. Windows actually pisses me off a bit now

As long as you don't want to play hardcore games then a Macbook air is great. Sims 3 is slightly laggy on my iMac with all the graphics turned up to the max. I'm planning on buying more RAM for it soon.

No problem. It really depends on how careful you are and where the computer goes--I take mine everywhere and it is my main computer therefore I need a case. If you leave it on your desk or in your home, you could survive without a case. But definitely look at your options!

Another feature I love about Apple is the option to Bootcamp-if you have programs you need to use that are PC only, all you have to do is install Windows (if you don't have access to a PC) on your Mac. I do have to admit that Windows 7 is frustrating...a few of the times I've had to update on 7, I have had major issues after the updates. Gives me a headache to fix these issues...so I don't use 7 that much.

Also, tip of advice for any issues or questions you have, just Google it!
