Unhappy Facial wash? - May 1st 2012, 03:52 AM

Not sure if this belongs here.
But, anybody have a good facial wash or something to clear up acne?
My face has been getting really bad lately.
I tried neutrogena face soap - dried out my skin an made it all red
Tried lavoclein, tried garnier ultimate cleanser, tried neutrogena rapid clear pads.
I use purpose face soap now which isn't working too well.
Any ideas? Does anyone know if max clarity works???

PM me if you need anything Except ice cream. I never share my ice cream

What worked best for me was a system with 3 different cleansers in them. They are a bit more expensive, but I bought the off-brand Wal-Mart one for around $11.00 dollars, and I still have some left. Here is a link to what I've used in the past (except, the 4th cleanser/wash didn't come in mine....)http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CIIBEPMCMAE

Anything with a 3-4 step system inside works the best for me, but you have to remember that everybody's skin is different. So, just keep trying if that doesn't work.

It depends on your skin type. For example, I have combination skin. I haven't found anything absolutely fool-proof, but I have found I get decent results from using a facial wash for sensitive skin (I don't use foaming soapy cleanser, but creme cleanser instead), and then using a light moisturizer meant for the face, so it won't clog the pores.

I use Neutrogena stress face wash. I've been using it for a few years & it works great, however I also use some face stuff prescribed by my dermatologist.

How long does a box last for you? (a couple of weeks, a month?)

Have you also been using a good moisturizer? If so, it could be that the one you are using is too light.
Use a cream facial cleanser, those are less likely to irritate your skin. The more simple cleansers without dyes or perfumes are also good for sensitive skin.
I use Neutrogena's redness soothing cream cleanser and it works wonders,
and Eucerine as a facial moisturizer because its very hydrating for my sensitive skin.

I bought the box back in November, and I still have a lot of it left. I only wash my face when I have bad break outs (usually on or near my time of the month, TMI I know), but that's only because I only have bad break outs at certain times. A box could last you for a while if you don't go overboard with washing. They tell you start out once a day, and see how the cleansers work with your skin, and if it comes out okay, then it says you can up to two times a day. It just depends on the facial wash brand you buy. Different brands will tell you different things. Also, have you tried looking into proactive. I've heard nothing but good things about it, though I haven't tried it myself because I couldn't afford it at the time. Might be something worth looking into. Again, that's a 3-4 step system.

I've found Clean&Clear - Blackhead Cleansing very helpful

Knowing your skin type can be helpful too, so you know which products are more suited to you.

Clinique do a good cleansing facial wash, although it's quite pricey =/

I use proactive. You actually get what you pay for! It works really good!

If you take baking soda and water and make a paste from it then put it on your face and leave it there for about 10-15 minutes before washing it off gets rid of acne within a few weeks. Also nutmeg, cinnamon, and honey mixed together, leave it on for 10-15 minutes and use it 3-4 times weekly gets rid of acne really well.
