Does this sound like too much for my age? - November 4th 2012, 01:02 AM

I'm fourteen. There's girls around school who have their eyes so black that they could pass as raccoons. No joke. I'm the quiet girl, and I usually wear gold eyeshadow (for my green eyes) and transparent mascara along with foundation, eyebrow pencil, and lip gloss. But lately I've been doing silver eye shadow with eyeliner just on the bottom waterline. My parents think it's too dark and they hate it, but I really like it and I've got a lot of comments on it. People actually treat me like I exist, like I'm a person when I wear that makeup. What do you think?

By the way, if you ever need to cover scars, use Maybelline FitMe! foundation. It's perfect for that.

I don't think its too much. Makeup should be fun, especially eye makeup, so if you like it then keep wearing it.

And here you are living, despite it all.

I agree with Nicole, I don't really think it's too much at all. Especially not considering your age and the age we live in today, kids younger and younger are wearing more and more make up. Hell when I was 12 I started trying to wear make-up. And now at 16, almost everyday I wear concealer, foundation and eyeliner at the very least.

The only suggestion I would make is not wearing too much black eyeliner.....I think too much just looks bad on anyone. I just recently started doing liquid black on my eyelids with like purple or something and I love it. But what you are doing sounds fine to me, just be careful with the back

Thanks. I actually wear brown eyeliner, and it almost comes out as a light black. I recently started trying silver.

Thats not bad at all! I started wearing makeup in middle school & I wish I knew what I was doing then, lol! I just put eyeliner on & powder that made me look really pasty & gray. Sounds like you know how to wear it & make it look good, but not like you're wearing too much.

When I have kids, I don't think I'll let any daughter of mine wear makeup until she's 16. Maybe 15.

Personally, I think it's alright. But make sure you're doing it for you, and not to get other's attention. After all, if someone only likes you for the make-up you wear, then they aren't that great of a person.

I think that makeup can be great, definitely, and I don't think it sounds too much.

In saying that, make sure you don't keep on adding little extra bits, and then find yourself completely covered in makeup - just a little bit, to *enhance* as such, is nice.
