Thumbs down Itchy scalp - February 17th 2013, 07:11 PM

Okay my scalp has started itching and I don't know why. I haven't got dandruff, nits. I use baby shampoo and I don't see how that can effect it. It itching's me and it annoys me. I don't know what to do? What is it? I will see a docter about this but still I'm curious. Has anyone experience this? How to fix it. I even rub my fingers on the scalp without scratching it because I don't want it to become worse and sore, red.

It could be dry skin or eczema, I have a friend that that happens to fairly frequently. Or you could be allergic to something in the shampoo, as unlikely as that seems.

Sorry I couldn't be there, I was tied to a rocking chair.

I also have eczema on my scalp, so Katie's right that could be it. I also have a very sensitive scalp so the allergy thing also makes sense for me. What you may want to try doing is testing out a new shampoo. I use one called T-Sal, which has no dyes or scent at all to it, and an organic conditioner. That way I don't have all of the harsh chemicals. Or you can just try a different brand, maybe it's the brand. But, you mentioned seeing a doctor, and they may have even more good suggestions for you.

Thank you for all your help but I don't think it's the shampoos I think it's because since I itch my hair I think I itch it for the sake of it and it went into a habit and then my scalp might become so sore it starts to itch. I need to stop itching it and ignore it hopefully it will stop.
