Lip stuff getting everywhere - January 23rd 2014, 05:12 PM

Hi everyone!

Recently I bought some new makeup things just to experiment a bit since I don't really wear it. I got this kind of red lipstick which I love, and I tend to go over it with "sugarplum" lipgloss to make it shiny. It looks good and I feel more confident because I don't look 14 years old.
The problem I'm having is that it gets everywhere! If I'm eating a sandwich, it gets on my fingers and the bread. If I'm drinking something, it gets all over the cup. My partner has said straight out that if I'm wearing it, I can't so much as kiss her cheek because she'll get covered in it. I don't want to stop wearing it, but is there anything I can do to stop it getting everywhere? I've tried doing that thing with the tissue between your lips to get the excess off and it didn't make much difference.

Any ideas? I like feeling confident.

I think that's just how lipsticks are. I've seen that there are a few that claim to be resistant to transferring onto other things for like 12 hours or something, but I haven't tried any myself. I tend to just use the lippies that are like a felt tip pen, so there's nothing sticky on my lips. I tend to be over paranoid about getting lip stick everywhere.

I'm not sure how useful my information is though, haha.

You could also try using a lip liner. A lip liner is to supposedly help keep things in place, but I haven't tried this to see for myself.

You could also always try a lip stain, too.

Have you tried just using less of it? Maybe you've got too much on your lips.

Or, put it on, then pin down your partner and kiss until the excess is gone xd

Feel free to email/PM/VM/whatever me if you want. I'll answer as soon as I can.
