Loom bands - July 24th 2014, 01:08 PM

Anyone else into making these? At first I thought they were just for kids but my mum was babysitting her friend's daughter a few days ago and I was helping her make some, they're really fun I can only really make simple designs at the moment. My loom is a bit awkward to use so I think I'll buy a proper one soon.

Some ones I've made

I don't get the obsession at all

They remind of those scoobies that were around about 8 years ago now...only this time people wear them as bracelets.

I made them with a kid I babysit. It was actually pretty fun! I only kept a couple of simple ones that were made for me.

Re: Loom bands - July 24th 2014, 02:58 PM

My younger cousin makes them, she just turned 13 and she loves making them. I've never tried myself, it's not really my style in terms of jewelry so I'd be spending lots of money on things that would be neglected but it seems fun

I haven't made any myself but my mom gives me some that the kids at the school she works with give her, which my niece ends up breaking. Are they hard to learn?

Hello! Yes, I think, I have to agree with everyone here that you'll get to be obsessed about loom bands. Teenagers are the most commonly affected by these colorful rubber bands. I noticed that each of these girls and even moms are already used to make their own artistic designs to come up with their nice charm bracelets. This is also a very good means of income for the young generations out there.

I've never made loom bands although I do know making clothing from them and later selling them is rather profitable at the moment.

Yay, people my age who also do it! My mum got some for my brother to try but they couldn't figure it out so I gave it ago and then I went and bought myself some more and can't stop.. I know it's one of those trends that will eventually die out and I'll wonder what the hell to do with all that I've made but it's enjoyable

You could always make a dress out of them and sell it on ebay for a stupidly large amount of money?

They're alright I suppose. I like things like this because it keeps your hands busy when you're restless. I loved the scoobies that were popular years ago.
The only issue I have is that almost all the tutorials are for the plastic things you make them with and I prefer to just use my fingers, which does start to hurt after a while.

Overall I prefer scoobies, but these can be fun too.

My little sister makes these all the time. I tried to make a few but I fail.
