Tie dye - January 27th 2015, 08:25 PM

I bought myself a tie dye kit and plain white T shirts on ebay I'm going to have some fun I've been watching videos on youtube and it actually looks really, really easy. I just can't wait for it to come I'm going to tie dye anything white I own

Does anybody here have experience with tie dye? Got any tips?

Tie dying is really fun! I didn't do it multi colored or with a kit. I simply used bleach on my jeans pants. If you're using rubber bands, my tip is to try picturing it in your head how you want it to come out and place the rubber bands based on that. Remember that less rubber bands would make less colored areas.

Ooh, I love tie dye! I did it on my birthday with my friends a few years ago, and I did the swirl design in rainbow and I mixed the colors. It ended up really cool! There's different shades of each color and even the thread stayed the original color so it pops. I wear that shirt all the time!

As far as tips, I suggest wearing older clothing because I ruined a new shirt when I did it. Also, you might want to hang the shirt outside to dry after you take the rubber bands off. We hung them on the clothes line. When you wash it for the first few times, it's worth investing in some color catcher sheets so you don't ruin your other clothes.

I'll take a picture of mine and come back and post it.
