Red face How to apply makeup naturally? - May 19th 2015, 09:28 PM

I wanted to start doing my makeup again, but the problem is I don't exactly know how to apply it naturally. Like, I would usually wear a bb cream for dark skin, mascara, and tightline my eyes, but people say they can always see it on my face...and then the makeup stains my clothes. Does anyone know how to correctly apply makeup naturally?

I don't wear a ton of make-up, I get frustrated easily lol. But if you look on YouTube there are loads of tutorials to show you how to do it and offer tips. Could be worth a look?

If you put makeup on, people are going to be able to see it. The only "natural" look is to not wear any or to just wear a light foundation powder. Paige is right though there are many tutorials on YouTube, Michelle Phan is probably the most popular beauty guru.

And here you are living, despite it all.

When I go for a natural look, I use foundation (always ivory) put some the back of my hand and use a make up brush to literally paint it on my face and then use a powder (again, always ivory) to go over the top with just mascara on.

But like the others have said, youtube will have tons of video's that show you how to do it in a natural way so give that a search and you'll find something helpful

I do exactly what Jessie does!

Another idea you can try is going to a makeup store and have them teach you how to apply makeup the way you want it to look. Typically this is free. You're from the US so try Sephora and Macy's, I've had them apply my makeup and teach me for free a few times.

And honestly, the foundation that is right for you is lightly based on a) Skin tone b) complextion c) how dry or oily your face is. But you literally can't go wrong with a powder. I spend a little more on foundation because I don't like cheap stuff on me personally. You have to decide how much effort and money you want to put into it!

A very fail safe option is powder and a little bit of bronzer. For powder I highly suggest the Fit Me! brand by maybelline I believe. Bronzer I get from Sephora in the Sephora brand.

Best of luck!
