What shaving razors do you use? - March 6th 2016, 08:56 AM

I don't know if this fits in this forum but I couldn't think of anywhere else that it would go. If it would fit better somewhere else feel free to move it.

But, I need to razorblades. I have one brand that I use and I might go back to that but they are disposable and it gets to be a pain in regards to having to buy more all the time. Also, the store I got them at closed and the other stores that have them are far away.

I bought a schick quattro a while ago but it's not good. I mean, it takes ages to shave things, it leaves hair behind and certain areas are impossible to do.

I originally go the schick because it has a trimmer but I care more about having something that will actually get rid of all the hair.

So, any suggestions on brands that you like would be appreciated. I know they can get pricey but I might be willing to invest in one if it does a good job.

I love my Venus razor. Since I started shaving that is what I have been using. I like the Venus breeze or spa because it has soap on the razor so you don't even need to use soap or shaving cream.

If you shave your pubic area it is kinda hard to use the Venus because it is big. SO I just use disposables for that area.

I use a Gillette Fusion Proglide for my face and that's all I use.
I have relatively sensitive skin and it never irritates it for long without a balm

I use the Schick Hydro Silk, but they are also disposable. I have found that non-disposable ones like the Schick Intuition get really gross.

Me too. I always end up soaking the handles once I throw the disposable part away.

I used disposables for a while but my mom ended up getting me a Venus gift set a while back and I used that for a while. But, some of the ones that have soap on them don't last long once the soap washes off the blade. I use anything that's on sale pretty much. CVS has a five blade razor with disposable blades and I've had the best luck with those. Bic makes these, and they're nice because they are disposable but they're not as flimsy as the cheaper ones. Plus they last longer.

The Bic Soleil ones Cassado linked to are my go-to and favourite, although I'll pick up some of the disposable Venus ones if they're on sale.

I have a Gillette Venus triple blade with a replaceable, moveable head. However, I also use disposable, fixed head razors that only have two blades. I have found that using the right razor on the right area is important when it comes to getting a smooth result without bloodshed and avoiding regrowth issues.

Be kind to yourself.
