Athletic shorts for swimming? - May 28th 2016, 10:51 PM

I'm working in an area that has lots of beaches and my coworkers often like going to the beach to kick back. I bought a new swimsuit before I came out here in anticipation, but I'm really self-conscious about my crotch area (hair :/ don't like shaving) and wanted some board shorts but couldn't find any I liked. I wanted a tight pair so it doesn't drag in the water.

I stopped by Walmart about found some athletic bikers shorts... can I wear this in the water, or is that really weird? They have moisture wicking technology and are made out of polyester and spandex.

I mean, it's not much different from wearing a T-shirt overtop your swimsuit. So in that sense it should be fine...

I think you'd be fine in biker's shorts! I have a pair of tight-fitting swim shorts and they're basically the same thing as my running/biking spandex shorts. As long as the pair you have is comfortable, they should work.

I know the kind you mean, there kind of like compression shorts?
I wear a swimmers speedo, so if I can wear that I think you'll be fine

Those should be fine. I wear work out short short over my bathing suit that are a little to small for me and they are fine. What you have should be fine but just know the chlorine if you wear them in the pool will fade them and wear them out so you should rinse them out after wearing them in the pool.

It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard, to follow your heart
Tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising,
Just be true to who you are
