hm, white eyeliner... - January 31st 2010, 01:07 AM

Anyone have any ideas on how to wear it? or any good techniques?

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

Won't it not show up pretty much?

I think if it's used slightly in the corners of your eyes with another colour it won't look trashy and will open up your eyes. This is using the tiniest amount of white eye liner though.
Less is more in some cases lol.

Well you could contrast it with black eyeliner along the bottom. Or it looks good used on your eyelid with some eyeshadow just where the 'crease' bit is under the bone.

White eyeliner is a good technique to use if you're looking/feeling tired - it will brighten and open up your eyes. Like Cara said, you could contrast it with black eyeliner. This will make your eyes look bigger =)

Wow, I've never seen so many negative reactions towhite eyeliner!! It's best if you use it on the bottom rim of your eye, it can really open up your eyes and make them look wider, particularly if you have bigger eyes anyway. And the idea of contrasting with black is good ~ if you used white eyeliner on the lower inside rim and then black underneath the lash line, it can have a nice effect (:

Use it for shading and highlighting.

A lot of people use it on their waterlines to create the illusion of a bigger eye.

And to those who want to try it, I'd look around a little bit at reviews for the different brands. A good white liner that will stay on is exceptionally hard to find, and I say that from experience.

just under your brow bone as a highlight.. or on your bottom waterline or inner corner looks good. it helps to make your eyes look bigger, too!

Place it on the waterline, or place it lightly (and blended well!) on your inner corners or on your brow bone as a high lite. You can also use a white pencil like NYX's jumbo pencil in milk blended on the lid as a base. The white base will make other colors pop.
