Black circles under the eyes. - June 15th 2010, 08:46 PM

I have terrible black circles under my eyes, from lack of sleep mainly. But I'd like a way to get rid of them as best as possible. Make up helps a bit, but that's not really a solution. I have a few questions

1. Do under eye treatments and creams for this actually work?

2. Are creams like this suited for young skin? (18 years)

3. And if so, can you recommend any products?

Thanks!

If you want a real solution, you need to get more sleep. Honestly, from what I've seen those creams are really just ripoffs.. I haven't seen a single one work yet. I know you said you weren't interested in makeup but I thought I'd throw this out there. If you want to balance out the darkness, you need to get a corrective concealer. They make yellow ones for this purpose. Here's an example if you're interested - http://www.newyorkcolor.com/products/index.cfm?item=543 You just apply this and then put your regular makeup over it to even it out. Honestly though, I'd try to get more sleep! It's the best solution.

Thanks!

I don't think it's the problem that I don't get enough sleep, because I get loads! Can you have this problem for getting too much sleep?

I'll check out the concealer

I would really recommend the Garnier Caffeine Eye roll on.

Here is a Youtube review on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9JCY5fsiTI

Here is the product: http://www.boots.com/en/Garnier-Caff...20Eye%20RollOn

And you can get tit with concealer built in for dark circle here (You can get it in fair or medium.)

Personally I don't think the eye roll ons / creams work, noone I know including myself has had any success with them.
I use Soap and Glory's Trick and Treament ... it's specifically for dark circles but also works a treat as a concealer and a primer for eye make up!

Have you thought it could be an iron defficany?
I have anemia an sleep loads, but still have the dreaded panda eye circles lol. Maybe eat some green leafy vegtables and maybe get some iron tablets. I also heard the amount of water you drink can affect eyes too. I'm not sure on how true that is though.

Yeah I've considered iron deficiency. I had a blood test done recently because I keep getting ill. I THINK I got tested for it, but I'm not sure. I do get tired all the time, and because I'm very pale, the black circles look horrible.

I just need an easy way out to fix it!

Man, I'm not really sure of the answers to your questions, but have you tried drinking lots more water?? Also, I've heard Milk Thistle tablets can help with under eye circles. You can get them in chemists (:

I use this.

http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/e...lers_&_primers

It's amazing, and the white side you can use to highlight to make them lighter. Or you can use it as a primer for your eyes, which is also what I do.

Water is all I drink!

I do usually use make up to hide it. But on the days where I can't be bothered to wear any I look like death!

Thanks girls

mac paint pots work well. in the color painterly. depending on your skin tone it might not work so try a few of them. http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/...RODUCT_ID=1573 they also work well as an eye base and any type of concealer. or try a color correcting cream or liquid (coast scents camo quad http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebst...ategory_id=140 youd want the color correcting one). yellow balances the purple. eye brighteners also work to help shift the focus away. try highlighting your brow or the outer corner f your eye with a yellow tinted luminizer. stila's works well for this (although it is a tad expensive for the purpose)

I use the brightening eye cream from Superdrug. It works okay and with a bit of concealer over the top it helps them not look as dark

I have this problem too, i found that putting cucumber on your eyes for like 10-15 minutes works wonders for me, and yea add a little makeup under your eye aswell

I have really dark circles under my eyes too, so bad that I look like I've been punched several times. Yellow makeup works well to cover them, if you haven't tried that I suggest that you do before giving up completely on makeup. Just make sure to cover up the yellow with normal concealer.

Sorry that I can't tell you about any treatments...mine are allergy-related so I haven't really bothered with anything.

Apparently it's genetic and got a lot to do with how pale your skin is. I'm basically a ghost and I have terrible under eye things. I've always been curious about that garnier under eye thing so when I give it a go I'll let you know what it's like. The scientist in me screams that it cannot make any logical sense but I've been pulled in by years of successful marketing. Well done Garnier.

Also you can check for anaemia by slightly pulling down your lower eyelid to see how pale the skin on your lower eyelid (the inside part next to your eye) is. If it's very pale you're probably anaemic and should check that your doctor tested for it!

Well I am very pale anyway so obviously the dark circles can be seen a lot clearer. I think I might go check with the doctor to see if I'm all alright! And I'll test out some products to see if they work.

Thanks

I've heard you can use potatoes, just cut one in fourth, and yeah.. Never tried it though xD.
Look online for recipes for something that might help
