Make-up questions -
July 31st 2010, 05:33 PM
I've run out of loads of make-up and had to throw a lot away a few days ago (they went all old and icky)
I definitely need foundation, primer, eye shadow brushes and eye shadow. I've never actually bought primer before though -is a bit of a n00b with make-up- :| Does anyone know of a good/reasonably priced one? Alsooooo does anyone know of a cheap/reasonably priced brand of make-up in general? I like MAC but it's expensive

I dont know about primer because I don't wear that but most of my makeup tends to be Maybelline, it seems to be good quality to me and it's pretty reasonably priced as well.

the best eye primer by far is Urban Decay Primer Potion. it really transforms your eye make-up. not sure about face primer because i don't really use it.
foundation - i use maybelline dream matte mousse. although it's definitely not for everyone. if you have remotely dry skin don't even try it. and some people don't like the mousse consistency, personally it's perfect for me. there is always MAC studio finish foundation which some people rave about. may be worth going to a MAC counter and having a look. get colour matched so you know you're going for the right shade. it's expensive though, like all things MAC. eye-shadow brushes - ELF cosmetics are your best bet if you don't want to pay loads. go on their website and have a look, the pricing is fantastic.. amazing quality for how cheap it is. Holly introduced me to ELF and i'm hooked, i order off there regularly - http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/ also lots of other things are good quality on there. not everything.. be careful of the lipsticks as they're not true to the swatches on the site. their bronzers are great. i have their bronzer in sunkissed i believe it's called, love it. eyeshadow - i have the coastal scents 88 palette. good value for money, amazing range of colours. they have a warm palette and a bright colours palette, shimmer and matte. eyeliner - THE BEST eyeliner i've ever tried is urban decay 24/7 pencil liner. i absolutely swear by this. the black (it's called zero) is amazing. and i also have a few bright colours which are just as good. stay on all day, don't smudge.. perfect. MAC is undoubtedly the best quality make up out there but it's NOT worth the price in my opinion. i do own bits and pieces from MAC but it's so over-priced. i suggest checking out http://www.makeupalley.com/ - if you go to product reviews you can literally search anything and there is almost always reviews on it. |

Maybelline is good. Well, I think so. Their foundation is fab - I've always used it... especially the one that comes with like an applicator spongey thing...dream cream r something. And their mascara is great. Also, Boots No7 stuff is fabby.
Funnily enough I got my make-up brushes from No17 because I was skint but they turned out to be OK ![]() Edit: I just checked out that ELF site and am majorly impressed...great value! Where can I get the coastal scents palette from for UK delivery? ![]() Just a hop, skip and a jump. |
