horrible skin :( - April 23rd 2011, 07:40 AM

hey, sorry i didnt know where to put this.

i have had bad skin since i turned 12, i have a few pimples, and i have fair skin and not much makeup works over it. i know i dont have many i just want addvice in how to help them clear up. i have tryed products but mum thinks they may be triggering the skin to break out more.. so i havent been using them lately and they are all still there and still getting new ones.

i clean my skin every morning and night, i do wear make up during the day, because if i didnt i would look all red, and i have blonde eye lashes ;s , so i have to wear it and i get it off as soon as i get home in the afternoon after school and stuff.

advice please thank youu

Well, first of all, have you considered switching your make up to Bare Minerals? It's an all natural brand of make-up that you can typically find at Ulta or Stephora. Although it's pretty expensive, it's a lot better for your skin then the stuff you can get at Wal-Mart or Target. You could even sleep in it if that's what you wanted to do, but that would still be pretty gross. xD
As for acne, I use the Neutrogena grapefruit stuff. It works really well and it smells delicious!!! If you haven't tried it yet, I strongly suggest it. If it doesn't work for you then I would consider seeing a Dermatologist.

Hi
I don't have much advice but if you go to this website http://www.skinid.com/home
They have some question you can answer and they can give you the best product for your type of skin it's from Neutrogena.

I have the same problem =/ although I've stopped wearing make up which has helped.

I dab tea tree oil on my spots and it heals them really well, smells a bit gross though. I've also recently been trying apple cider vinegar as I've heard it is really good for your skin. I had some scabs where I had scratched, I put some vinegar on and the next day they had almost completely healed. If you use vinegar I'd suggest watering it down a bit as it can be a bit strong.

To be honest, the best thing I ever did for my skin was to stop wearing makeup. I only wear it now if I'm going out for the night or something.

I use a cleanser called Basis Gel Cleanser and I love it. I also use a Clarisonic, which is possibly my favorite beauty product I've ever owned (it's like a big electric toothbrush for your face and it cleans your face so well).

What I'd really suggest is going to the dermatologist. It will save you loads of time (and possibly money, depending on your insurance) if you get a prescription. I'm using prescription acne stuff right now and it helps literally so much. if it's really bothering you, I'd urge you to consider that.

Hey,

Washes and things like that can help, but they don't always work. I doubt the washes are making your skin worse, they could be just not helping.
When it comes to makeup, I advice wearing only concealer if you can get away with that.

That is a great brand of concealer. It's a waterproof concealer by Maybelline.
If you use it, make sure that you use a makeup brush to apply it unless putting that directly on your skin. Also, make sure you are washing your makeup brushes often and exchanging all your makeup about every 6 months.

In addition to all of this, I also recommend that you either see a dermatologist or a skin estheticians.
A dermatologist can give you topical/oral antibiotics to help clear up your skin.
A skin esthetician can do laser procedures such as Isolaz. However, Isolaz is quite expensive.

Other things you can do is avoid touching your face unless your hands are clean, don't pick at your pimples, and drink plenty of water.

I hope this helped.
