Exclamation Inappropriate Clothing? - May 15th 2011, 06:20 AM

What do you think about young teenagers wearing reveling clothing?
Let's say a 14 year old girl is wearing a low cut t-shirt with a skirt about 2 inches above her knees and wedges? How would you react?
or what about this picture?

Or if a 15 year old is wearing a lacy black skirt with fishnet tights, sleeveless shirt, and dark purple 3 inch heels?

I dont judge people, but if they seem too young for a certain outfit, their parents should do something.

I can't see the picture

I agree, though parents can't always do something about what their children wear. I've gone to school in clothes that would make my mom happy and then changed. And I'm not talking like, miniskirts. My mom got pissed because I was wearing leggings and a long, flowy shirt It's not always the parents' fault.

I saw a thirteen year old girl wearing one of those plastic bracelets that said "BITE ME" on it the other day. I wanted to go up to her and be like, "You're thirteen, you do not need to be wearing a bracelet that says that. Yeah, it's not a swear, but it's sure not classy either."

I agree with Becca, but when they're young enough the parents can do something.

For example, last summer I went to the movies. Behind my friend and I were a small group of I'd say girls between 9 and 10. Maybe we were a little bias because the parent they were with could not control them and they were rude the entire time, but we ran into them on the way out.

One of the girls was in heels. Fishnet leggings. A really tiny tube top and had on bright red lipstick and a lot of eye makeup. She looked like a prostitute.

Another example is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3jau...reply_received
Even if it is just a dance, it's inappropriate for girls that young to dress or act like that.

"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.'
I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish.
'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.'
'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said.
'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'"

Oh gosh it drives me crazy
Its like, sorry but its to me like your asking for some creep to pick you up and .. well.
Fashion has changed alot, and girls are growing up quicker yes, but there still has to be limits. The only pair of 'heels' i have are litreally just small medium height wedges for summer!
I love lace tops, but if its like lace all over and see through, a vest top would be worn underneath most definetley!

A 15 year old girl.. well I think that's a great deal more mature than a 10 year old girl. I don't think I'd really have a problem with a 15 year old girl wearing moderately revealing clothing. Anything lower is just wrong.

There's no doubting that the girls in that video have talent and have a bright future ahead of them as far as dancing goes, but whoever made them wear those outfits is sick.

I don't think it's right that they're wearing clothes like that at that age. When they're older, they can wear what they want but at that age, you need to wear decent enough clothes because you're young, you don't want to be flaunting yourself at that age.

I was watching The Sex Education show a while ago and they went into shops like Primark etc who were selling padded bras for 8/9 year olds and t-shirts and underwear that you'd expect someone a lot older to wear so it's no wonder kids today are dressing like that when the clothing is available to them.

I know, stuff like that is pretty disgusting
It's just sexualising girls at an even earlier age, and the problem is that they think they like it! Something needs to be done about it.

I think it's because kids are trying to grow up too fast, and to me that's sad. They should be enjoying their youth, but instead they try to act like adults because of what they see people who are older wearing and doing. I think kids should be taught that it's okay to be innocent and to just be a kid. They should be holding on to their childhood instead of trying to let it go.

@ MondayComesAround

While I agree that kids should want to hold on to their childhood, I can understand, especially in America, why they are so desperate to grow up. Biologically, at roughly 13 the human body has matured to the point that it thinks it's an adult. We're telling someone they are a child while nature is telling them otherwise. So I can fully understand why pre-teens are so ready to emulate adults.

Re: Inappropriate Clothing? - May 22nd 2011, 05:24 PM

I've gotten used to it. At first I found it slightly odd, but by now I don't give a shit anymore. I just find it annoying when some 14 year old tries to hit on me in a club with a fake ID, dressed scanty, with tonnes of make-up and all that shit. That annoys me, a lot. To me it's the same as if my mum would try to hit on me, I find it repulsive.
