Re: Who thinks business dress codes suck? -

It's not preppy clothes it's proper business attire. Where I work you don't have to wear suits or ties but you can't wear shorts, tank tops and flip flops. If I know I'm going to have a meeting with a client I try to go more professional because to be honest your clothes does say a lot about you. If I went with shorts and a tank top I doubt people would take me seriously the same applies to how I see other businesses if I walk into a car dealer I want to see the person trying to sell me the car in proper business clothes it gives them a more professional look I don’t want someone in shorts and jersey trying to sell me a car as bad as that sounds I bet many people will have the same opinion. I’m actually glad places have dress codes because in today’s society it seems like many people lack proper business attire.
Everyone is born right-handed. Only the greatest overcome it. |

Not job related, but when I went to a college fair I went in a proper dress (nothing fancy, just a fun dress with a modest dropped waist) and shoes other than Converse. I know for a fact that I got more respect and help from the representatives because I presented myself like would for interview- I was taking this college fair seriously and showing it by dressing myself seriously. Compared to the kids who showed up in jeans, t-shirts, and flip-flops, I got a lot more help and personal connection.
Yes it is biased. But it matters. |

I don't mind the dress code, but I do think people are very judgmental towards piercings and tattoos. Body modifications do not change character.
