Glitter make-up - January 10th 2009, 10:16 AM

Well I had some spare money so I went into Claires and brought some glitter (For eyes) for 3. Its looks really pretty. But I dont know 100% how to put it on. Its not like in a glue stuff just glitter in a pot. I try putting it on with an eye shadow brush, but it seemed to go everywhere

i've got some of that [not from claires.. but it sounds like the same kinda stuff] and i just put it on with my finger and seems to stay fine. if you can mix it up with some normal eyeshadow that seems to work better.

if you want to get it to stay, but don't want it all over the place, try using a cotton swab, it works well for me.

Or you can rub some vaseline or lip balm over your eyes to ensure it stays on. I do this with some regular shadow as it lets the makeup stay on longer.
And use a cotton bud as well, it will make applying it far easier.

Generally glitter is going to get a bit of everywhere, I don't think there's a trick to stop that completely, but as suggested using something sticky (Vaseline, lip balm, even liquid eyeliner or such) will help more of it to stay where you want it to.

Also, try practicing. Don't be afraid to get a little messy. It can be fun!

A friend of mine who wears glitter says she has this roller thing of glitter to apply it, but before that she just used a makeup sponge brush [the ones you get with eyeshadow], wet it and applied the sparkle to it. I tried it myself and it didn't work amazingly, but I probably did it wrong It's worth a try~

vaseline takes your makeup off faster, in fact i know several people who use it to remove eye make up. put foundation on your lids, it holds it and stays on longer.
