Lotion recommendations!? - December 22nd 2011, 08:14 AM

(I wasn't sure what forum to post this in, so if you mods think it would go in a better place... feel free to move it! )
--
As the title has stated, I'm looking for lotion recommendations. Just general everyday lotion. It's winter time, and my skin doesn't do well with the lower temperature here and get's all dry. Plus, I don't apply lotion on everyday. But it has come to my attention that my skin is getting dry and I would like to fix that and start applying lotion everyday. With the new year coming up, I thought I would start it off with a new lotion!

So... What lotion do you use/prefer/recommend? Where do you get it?

Ummm, I don't know if you'll get it where you live but I use Ponds cold cream for arms and legs and all . Its very effective. And for face I use Amway's lotion. This one should be easily available around you. You just need to find an Amway distributor. My skin too becomes very dry in winters so I guess they should work for you too.
And this one may sound weird to you but it is REALLY effective, try it, its what people in my country do. After taking a bath apply some mustard oil on you arms, legs stomach and all without drying yourself. NOT on your face. And then rise it off. Kinda like when you apply conditioner on your hair after a head wash and then rinse it off.

Its easier said that done BUT most of the great things wouldn't have ever been done if they hadn't been said first.

You can get some pretty good lotions & such from Bath & Body works, but I also use generic Vaseline lotion. Works like a charm.

I went ahead and moved this to here because I think you'll get more responses.

Currently I'm on Accutane, so my recommendation is probably a bit too moisturizing for you, but I'm using Dermalogica Active Moisture Balance and I love it. Dermalogica is a great brand in general, but they can be on the expensive side. I know Ulta and Sephora sell Dermalogica and I think Beauty Brands does, as well.

Dove is always a great way to go if you're looking for mild lotions that are good for your skin and don't have really super strong perfumes and stuff. I use Jergens original and Aveeno as well. I have a coconut body butter from bath and body works...something that also worked GREAT is udder butter.

I love Eucerine, it has become my favorite moisturizer because it works really well.
I would try this stuff: http://www.eucerinus.com/products/re...ssentials.html
However they do have stronger lotions that absorb quickly if your skin is very dry. You can get it in any drugstore really.

Nivea anything is awesome.

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

I prefer bath and body works, just because I'm allergic to a lot of stuff but I'm not allergic to theirs. They have lots of nice scents too.

Totally Nivea. Love it for dry skin in the winter.
